Alonso Carrasco Jr, MD

Alonso Carrasco Jr. MD grew up in the border town of El Paso, Texas. He went on to attend the University of Texas at El Paso followed by medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He completed his residency at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. After residency he did a pediatric urology fellowship at the Children’s Hospital Colorado. He was then an attending physician at Children’s Mercy Kansas City for 5 years where he was the director of congenitalism and pediatric urologic oncology. He is joining Pediatric Surgical Associates, Ltd as their 7th pediatric urologist. Dr. Carrasco enjoys all aspects of pediatric urology, and is especially interested in genitourinary reconstruction, neurogenic bladder, and urologic oncology. He is trained in minimally invasive surgery both robotic and conventional laparoscopic surgery. Dr. Carrasco uses a family-centered care model to engage his pediatric patients. Dr. Carrasco is excited to bring his talents and skills as a physician and reconstructive surgeon to the Twin Cities.
