About The Provider
I completed my undergrad at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota where I fell in love with (a) Minnesota(n) and attended the University of Iowa for medical school. I performed my surgical training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center - the number one ranked ENT residency in the country - where I learned to master complex head and neck surgery and completed my fellowship in pediatric otolaryngology at Harvard’s Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary where I honed my skills to be specific to children. I am board certified in both complex pediatric otolaryngology and otolaryngology-head and neck surgery and was named a Rising Star by Mpls St. Paul Magazine and a Top Doctor by Minnesota Monthly. I believe it is one of the greatest privileges in the world to take care of children and I take every surgery from simple ear tubes to the most complex reconstructions very seriously. In my spare time I enjoy cooking, playing tennis, watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and spending time with my wife and two daughters.
When I get home from work my kids usually run to greet me to tell me about what they’ve been up to when they hear my car pull into the garage - it’s the absolute best part of my day! My goal is that every parent gets to share that moment with their own children. This requires children that have the ability to hear well enough to hear a garage door open, the ability to breathe well enough to run and play and the ability to speak easy enough to share their hilarious thoughts with us. I have devoted my ENT practice to helping kids through ailments of hearing, breathing, swallowing and sleeping.

I wish we started at this place vs other doctors. They spoke in a way to show empathy for parents and children, speaking technically/medically, and then translating for easy understanding. Our Dr shared a similar parenting experience showing compassion. We cannot recommend this location enough.

Dr J was great. Even though my little is 6'2" and 16 years old he met him where he was and treated him with respect and was patient and answered all our questions. He also wasn't rushed which I always appreciate!!
