Becky started her medical career as an Aeromedical Evacuation Technician in the US Air Force Reserves in 1990. She earned her Associates Degree in Nursing at Normandale Community College in 1995, Bachelor degree at Minnesota State University, Mankato in 2006, and Doctorate degree at Creighton University in 2019. During her graduate studies she conducted evidence-based research on how to improve pediatric pain management in the emergency department and developed a quality improvement project on timely recognition and management of pediatric sepsis. She spent most of her nursing career in the emergency departments at Fairview Southdale and HCMC. In addition, she provided education to medical professionals locally, nationally, and internationally for the CALS program. She joined the Critical Care Float Pool/PICU at Childrens Minnesota in 2016. As the wife of a farmer, she enjoys the outdoors, driving motorcycles, and hanging out with her husband and four children. Her passion for pediatric medicine and providing family centered care was ignited by the loss of her older sister from neuroblastoma.
