Catherine Marie Bendel, MD

Dr. Bendel is an Associate Professor and the Vice Chair for Diversity in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Minnesota Medical School. She is a clinical neonatologist and Associate Director of the Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship program, based at the University of Minnesota with collaborations with the Children's MN St Paul NICU. She is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Medical School, where she also completed her pediatric residency and neonatal-perinatal medicine fellowship training. Her research focuses on neonatal infectious diseases, multi-center NICU clinical trials and medical education initiatives. She is a member of the University Graduate Medical Education Committee, the AAP Organization of Neonatal Training Program Directors and the Society for Pediatric Research Diversity & Inclusion Council. She is consistently named a Top Doctor by both Mpls St Paul Magazine and Minnesota Monthly Magazine, and has also been named to the Best Doctors of America list annually.
