Dr. Mikesell is a pediatric pulmonologist with Children's Respiratory and Critical Care Specialists. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology with a minor in biochemistry from Northern Illinois University where she also played Division 1 volleyball. She attended Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine for medical school and completed her pediatric residency and pediatric pulmonology fellowship at the University of Minnesota. During Dr. Mikesell's fellowship, she received multiple grants for her research investigating treatment adherence and lung function in cystic fibrosis. Her medical interests include cystic fibrosis, asthma, athletes with respiratory issues and pulmonary disorders associated with neuromuscular disease. In addition, she has a special interest in education. She has spoken publicly to all levels ranging from families and patients to physicians at national conferences. She has been nominated for outstanding educator awards and wishes to continue educating throughout her career.
Dr. Mikesell is a Minnesota native and lives with her husband and 2 sons in Eagan. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading and gardening.
