David Miller Overman, MD

Dr. David Overman is Chief of the Division of Cardiovascular Surgery, Cardiac liaison for the ECMO Program, and Director of perfusion services at Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota. After receiving a Bachelor of Science at Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon, Dr. Overman Attended medical School at The University of Minnesota. He completed a general surgery residency at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis and then a thoracic surgery residency as well as a vascular surgery fellowship at Rush-Presbyterian-St Luke's Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. He also completed a pediatric cardiac surgery fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Ontario Canada. Dr. Overman is board certified in cardiothoracic surgery and has obtained special certification in congenital heart surgery through the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. He has been in practice with The Children's Heart Clinic since 1996.
