I went into pediatrics because I love working with children, from infancy through their late teens, and with their families. My philosophy is to be an advocate in a child's life, someone who will work with parents to ensure their children grow up to be healthy, both physically and mentally. While I enjoy the challenge of medically complex patients, I've learned over the years that the smallest details are important, even in routine illnesses, and I try to be as thorough as I can. My overall goal is to help children feel comfortable in the office and have a positive experience. As they grow older they will view their doctor as someone to help them, not someone to fear.
My training includes degrees from St. Olaf College, University of Wisconsin Madison Medical School, Residency in Pediatrics at the University of Minnesota and a Hematology/Oncology Fellowship from Mayo Clinic/Rochester.
