Emily Andrisevic, MD, is a general pediatric orthopedic surgeon specializing in clubfeet, gait analysis, neuromuscular orthopedics in addition to trauma and infection care.
Going into orthopedic surgery was a natural choice for me. When I was 5 years old, my Father gave me two boards, nails and a hammer. This allowed me to start working on the manual dexterity needed for this job. He was my role model to follow into medicine, and he specifically urged orthopedics as it is a worthy profession.
I love the constant change of pediatrics and the wide range of conditions I treat through orthopedics. I try to treat my patients as if they were my own children. I imagine the visit from a parent's perspective and the young patients' perspective, too.
Children exude joy. It makes this work so rewarding!
