I recognize no patient or family wants to have to be in the hospital, so in addition to ensuring my patients receive excellent, evidence-based care I also view my role as providing as best an inpatient experience as possible for the patient and his/her family during what is surely a stressful time. To that end, I promise always (1) to work efficiently and (2) to communicate clearly and effectively with patients, families, and colleagues. I find the best patient care happens when I fulfill my own tasks and responsibilities in a complete and timely fashion while maintaining a continual line of communication with the care team. Apart from my inpatient practice, I have specific interests and experience in global health and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
