Melissa Hansing is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner on the Hospitalist team that delivers care to inpatients on the Minneapolis and St. Paul campuses. Prior to her APRN career, she worked for more than twenty years in acute care settings at Children’s Minnesota, most of that time in the Level-1 Pediatric Emergency Department. She earned her first MSN in Nursing Leadership and Management from Western Governors University. She received her second MSN from St. Catherine University in the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program. She is a passionate advocate for patients who experience healthcare disparities and is rewarded and inspired by providing family-centered care to the richly diverse patient populations that Children’s Minnesota serves. Melissa and her family live in Minneapolis. She is the mother of twin teen-age boys and two naughty kitties. She enjoys reading, cooking, traveling, surfing, hiking, biking, and spending time together with her family.
