I grew up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and attended medical school at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. I completed my residency and one year as Chief Resident at Washington University in St. Louis / St. Louis Children's Hospital. I was in practice in St Louis until moving to Minnesota in 2003.
I enjoy providing preventive care for children from infancy to young adulthood, providing information and advice and empowering parents to make informed decisions for their children. I especially enjoy caring for premature infants, children with developmental challenges, and children with complex medical disorders. I value the concept of the "medical home" in which the physicians, nurses, and support staff truly know their patients and their families well and can respond to their needs in a personal way. I can help coordinate care if your child sees one or more specialists. In my spare time I enjoy reading, yoga, gardening, and playing with my dogs.
