Poornima Kamran Kavathekar, MD

Poornima serves as a general pediatrician to patients and families at the HealthPartners Arden Hills Clinic. She also sees newborns at Regions Hospital. Poornima loves watching children and families grow in the physical and emotional realms of life. She works closely with families to find the optimal resources to make caring for their children safe and comfortable. She enjoys working with patients from all ethnic backgrounds and relies on interpreter services to ensure information is communicated effectively to families. She believes strongly in a patient centered model, wherein the patients needs come first. Poornima attended medical school at Boston University, then returned to her home state of Minnesota for her internship and residency at the University of Minnesota. She enjoys spending time with her family and community in her free time.
