Samrie K Beshah, MD

Dr. Beshah recently moved to Minnesota from NYC. She is working at Mendakota Pediatrics as a Pediatrician. She attended Johns Hopkins University, and received in her degree in Biomedical Engineering. During her time in college, she worked on a prototype for a medical device for neonates with Hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy in low resources areas. She spent time in Ethiopia to complete a user profile for the device at Yekatit 12. After college, she worked in IT Consulting at Accenture as a Senior Systems Integration Analyst. Then she started medical school at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where she was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. She completed her residency at New York-Presbyterian Hospital Columbia University Irving Medical Center. In residency, she won an award for Distinguished Research Abstract about her research on Differences in Features of Built Environments at School vs. Home. The research allowed her to explore her interests in asthma. For fun, she likes going for long walking and biking. As an Ethiopian American, she enjoys eating kitfo.
