Valerie Therese Whitcomb, MD

Valerie Whitcomb, MD, RDMS, is a Pediatric Emergency Medicine Specialist at Children's of Minnesota. She attended medical school at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. She completed her pediatrics residency at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio and then returned to Michigan to do a fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at Children's Hospital of Michigan. Dr. Whitcomb completed additional training in point of care ultrasound and now has her Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification. She joined Children's of Minnesota in 2014. She has a special interest in the use of bedside ultrasound in the Emergency Department setting as well as medical education for students, residents, and fellows.
